2008-2010 AUDI TT-S Akrapovic Exhaust Systems: Slip-On Installation Instructions

Download REMOVAL OF STOCK EXHAUST SYSTEM: Put the vehicle onto a car lift. WARNING: make sure, that car lifting is safely and correctly done or you risk vehicle damage, injury or even death! 1. Mark the muffler inlet pipe 60mm from the edge of the muffler, as shown in figure. Cut pipe with angle grinder or equivalent (Figure 1). 2. Pull the vacuum tube off the exhaust valve cylinder (Figure 2). 3. Unscrew the marked bolts and nuts on both sides of the vehicle. Remove the muffler with rubber brackets from the vehicle (Figure 3, 4). INSTALLATION OF THE AKRAPOVI? EXHAUST SYSTEM: 1. Attach the stock rubber brackets on both sides of the Akrapovi? muffler as shown (Figure 5). INSTALLATION TIP: for easier mounting, lubricate the stock rubber brackets. 2. Assemble the clamp onto the inlet of the mufflers, as shown (Figure 6). WARNING: use anti-seize copper paste on clamp bolt threads. 3. Assemble the clamps and sferical rings onto the Tail Pipes (Figure 7) 4. Install the plastic plug and plastic tie (supplied in the Akrapovi? installation kit) into the vacuum cylinder tube and secure the tube as shown (Figure 8). 5. Slide the mufflers inlet pipe all the way onto the stock link-pipe and tighten the stock rubber brackets onto the chassis using stock bolts and nuts. Tighten the clamp to specified torque (Figure 9, 10). 6. Slide the Akrapovi? Tail-Pipes onto the mufflers outlets on both sides of the vehicle. Center them in respect to rear bumper as shown (Figure 11). 7. Tighten the marked clamps to a specified torque on both sides of the vehicle (Figure 12). MAINTENANCE OF THE AKRAPOVI? EXHAUST SYSTEM 1. Clean the titanium exhaust components with a multi-purpose spray lubricant (WD-40 or equivalent), carbon fiber exhaust components with soft and dry cloth and stainless steel components with soft cloth sprayed with contact cleaner, then wipe with soft and dry cloth. A change in the color of the exhaust system is normal due to high temperatures. 2. Periodically make sure all the bolts and springs are sufficiently tight.
